As a designer, I've always been fascinated by the intersection of nature, community, and creativity. That's why I'm excited to share with you my vision for Rooted, a community garden initiative that brings people together to grow, learn, and thrive. I believe that everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food and green spaces.
Rooted is a community garden initiative that brings people together to grow, learn, and thrive. The concept centers around creating a network of community gardens that not only provide individuals with a source of fresh, healthy food but also serve as hubs for social connection, education, and community building.
As I began to develop a visual identity for Rooted, I considered several key design challenges. I needed to create a logo, a brand identity, and system for them to be able to use for social media posts and flyers as they grow and advertise. They wanted something earthy, as well as focused on the community aspect to be the center of the design concept.
To create a logo that embodies the spirit of Rooted, I chose to make a simple yet iconic mark that features a stylized letter "R" integrated with a leaf surrounded by a circle. This combination of elements creates a strong visual connection between the idea of growth and community. I also selected a color palette that reflects the earthy, natural focus of Rooted: green and gold.
The final result is a comprehensive visual identity for Rooted that effectively communicates the organization's mission and values. The earthy green and gold color palette conveys a sense of harmony and achievement, while the chosen font is clear, approachable, and conveys a sense of community and growth. To further support Rooted in their branding efforts, I created a range of materials and templates, including social media banners, print materials, and merchandise, that are available for the organization to use to promote their mission and values. With this visual identity, Rooted can confidently represent themselves and connect with their target audience, creating a strong foundation for their community garden initiative.
